Anchorage Welcomes You

For many inhabitants of Anchorage, Alaska, daily life is defined by homelessness, drug use and open wounds from early childhood. Over the course of a year we have interviewed and been allowed to portray the lives of those living on the edge of society. “Anchorage Welcomes You” is a collection of short stories in image form that weaves together individual stories to depict the shadow of contemporary USA in addition to showcasing how the human spirit can thrive and flourish even in the most challenging of circumstances. Anchorage serves as a case study in this regard, but the social dynamics in Anchorage can be observed throughout large parts of the US and the world.
