An enchanted documentary about a boy growing up in one of Germany’s last circus families.

Santino is eleven years old and his family runs a circus. They are always on the move, from city to city and from show to show. While they travel around, Santino is taught at various schools where the family settles. Grandpa Ehe is a famous circus director, and he tells Santino stories from the circus and from the family’s past. While the old man looks back on his life, Santino stands on the threshold of his own future. Soon it will be his turn to find his talent and what he will entertain with in the ring.

The film has a nice child-friendly form, including small animated snippets, and is a fascinating documentary about one of Germany’s last circus families, their unique lifestyle and the value of taking care of tr.aditions and each other.
