Better Go Mad in The Wild
Regi: Miro Remo
Award-winning film about eccentric twin brothers on a farm in the Czech mountains.
A humorous yet serious portrayal of identical twin brothers Franta and Ondra Klišík who have spent almost their entire lives together on a deserted farm in the Šumava mountains in the Czech Republic. They live isolated from the outside world, share everything and spend their days caring for animals, smoking, drinking, arguing and philosophizing about life.
Director Miro Remo portrays the two eccentric hermits through a montage of everyday life chores, small showdowns and thoughtful moments, interspersed with poetic elements and, occasionally, a narration from a “talking” cow. The film provides an insight into a life that can seem both incomprehensible, occasionally absurd, and at the same time deeply human. The film won the main prize at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in 2025 and has been shown at a number of major festivals around the world.
