The Velvet Queen

Strikingly beautiful journey through Tibet’s mountains in search of the elusive Snow leopard.

A quiet, but magnificent story about the world-famous nature photographer Vincent Munier and author and adventurer Sylvain Tesson’sl journey of discovery through the Himalayas, in search of the extremely shy snow leopard. As attention must be sharpened to look for signs of the leopard, they also begin to notice all the other details of the landscape: there are animals and eyes everywhere, and as much as they observe, they themselves are being observed.

The Velvet Queen is a modest masterpiece, which engulfs you in the wondrous experience of the wild. And just as difficult, and as important, as finding the leopard, is acknowledging the greatest weakness of our modern society: our indifference to the world around us.

The pre-premiere is accompanied by a talk between nature photographer Arne Nævra and director and DOP Egil Håskjold Larsen. See the  Norwegian event for more information.
