Volunteer registration for 2026 opens in fall

HUMAN International Documentary Film Festival is Norway’s largest festival for new Norwegian and international documentary film. 

The festival offers a wide range of documentaries, as well as inviting our audience to attend debates, performances, seminars and Q&As. All with an emphasis on current and human rights issues.

Why volunteer?

When participating in making HUMAN, you will be introduced to a dynamic and engaging community. In addition you get unique experience with event planning.

As a volunteer you get: 

• Free entrance to festival screenings of your choice 
• Festival merch
• Food and drink at longer shifts
• A certificate for your effort

What can you do as a volunteer?

Our volunteers are separated into three groups. It is possible to apply for more than one group, but we urge you to specify which one you are most interested in working with. 

Due to a high volume of applications, we cannot guarantee a position or that you will be assigned to the group you are most keen on. If you have a friend you would like to work with, let us know who and we will attempt to put you on the same shifts together.

How to apply

To fill out our volunteer form, you need to create a profile in our new system Eventival. This is to make sure we all get the right information from each other and to guarantee that all communication runs smoothly. 

The applications will be assessed continuously from January!
