Bong Thom (The Brother)

Is it possible to overcome the consequences of war?

When he was 6 years old, Heng lost both of his arms in a landmine explosion. He lives with his close knit and deeply Buddhist family in rural Cambodia, where they work hard and struggle to make ends meet as farmers. Now, as a teenager fallen in with the wrong crowd, and with no future for himself at the farm, Heng is sent away to stay with his older brother, Chana. Chana makes romantic music videos in the bustling city of Phnom Penh. Here, with a bossy brother, amid a social media, “wannabe” culture, Heng must adapt to his new existence.

A film about a family who are living with the consequences of a war that ended decades ago.
