The Panama Canal Treaties: Film + samtale
An exciting, historical yet highly topical film that depicts the 14-year-long and intense diplomatic struggle, led by Panamanian military leader Omar Torrijos, to regain control of the Panama Canal from the United States.
The film focuses primarily on the process leading up to the agreement between Torrijos and US President Jimmy Carter in 1977, but also follows the development up to the final and actual takeover of the canal, on December 31, 1999.
