About the Festival
HUMAN International Documentary Film Festival is Norway's largest festival for new Norwegian and international documentary films. The festival spans seven days, and includes a Norwegian, and an international competition program as well as a competition program for best human rights film.
In addition to a variety of films, we invite you to debates, conversations, concerts, family day, and a program with a special focus on current social issues and human rights themes.
When and Where
HUMAN 2026 will take place Monday March 2. – Sunday March 8. 2026.
The festival mainly takes place in two venues:

Accessibility
Both Vega Scene and Cinemateket have universal accessibility, which means that everyone with reduced mobility can enter the cinemas and that the ticket counter and toilets are equally accessible to everyone.
Elevator
There is an elevator and step-free access to all cinemas.
Wheelchair
There are dedicated wheelchair spaces in many of the cinemas, but not in all cinemas, so contact the cinemas for more information about wheelchair space.
Subtitles
If the film is subtitled, it will be listed under the description of the film.
Program
We show the very best in Norwegian documentary and handpick the most interesting and spectacular documentary films from abroad. The festival offers a variety of stories and themes in the film program, and has a special focus on human rights and current social challenges.
The festival program consists of approximately 50 documentaries, a number of talks, debates and events, all of which are open to the general public.
In addition, the festival has an industry program, a school program, a youth section, a family day, documentary courses for young people, animation workshops for children, and much more.
The entire program is launched min february 2026.

You can choose between buying single tickets or a festivalpass for the HUMAN International Documentary Film Festival 2026.
TICKET SALES
The full festival programme, along with ticket sales, will be released during February 2026. Some performances will open for sale ahead of this. Stay tuned to our channels.
TICKET CATEGORIES AND PRICES:
- Standard ticket: 175 NOK.
Cinematekets members: Discounted price.
Vega-venner: Discounted price. - Student ticket: 145 NOK.
- Festival Pass: 875 NOK (valid for film screenings at Vega Scene and Cinemateket only – see below).
- Festival Pass – Student: 725 NOK (valid for film screenings at Vega Scene and Cinemateket only – see below.
- If you work in the industry, we also offer discounted festival passes for NOK 725.

For screenings outside of Vega Scene and Cinemateket, different ticket prices may apply. See individual screenings for details. Some events will have free entrance – this will be announced when tickets are released in February.
Info stands
HUMAN is setting up a staffed info stand in the foyer of Vega Scene and one at Cinemateket throughout the festival period, March 2-8.
They are staffed by HUMAN volunteers, who are present during opening hours at the screening locations from one hour before the first screening.
