Erik Rudeng - Director Freedom of Expression Foundation, Oslo
Erling Borgen - Film director. The focus of a retrospective on the 3rd, including films that had real impact on Norwegian businesses, and a film never screened in Norway before.
Guests from abroad
Hubert Sauper - Director of Darwin's Nightmare the film that has been voted as the best documentary of the last 20 years. Also of Kisangani Diary 1998 (not screening at festival) a terryfying picture of 80,000 lost Hutu refugees in eastern DR Congo - all too relevant for what is still going on today.
Shaheen Dill-Riaz - Bangladesh. Director Ironeaters. Knows the conditions and background of the ship-breaking yards.
Kalsang Dolma - Tibet/Canada. Filmmaker What Remains of Us.
Rex Bloomstein - UK. Director, An Independent Mind. Has made many films about human rights, independently and for the BBC. Participating in Freedom of Expression discussion 6th Dec.
Faraj Bayrakdar - Syria (now Sweden). Journalist/poet featured in An Independent Mind. He was imprisoned for 15 years because of the political nature of his writing; he was subjected to regular and severe torture during this time.
Farid Tukhbatullin - Turkmenistan (now Austria). Human rights activist and former political prisoner. Appearing in Shadow of the Holy Book.
Ingvild Jenssen - NGO Platform on Shipbreaking, Brussels, working to prevent human rights abuses and environmental injustice linked to toxic waste on board end-of-life vessels.
Charles Mukandirwa- DR Congo (refugee in Denmark). Human Rights Defender. Participating in Oppression Discussion, 5th Dec. and introducing Shockwaves.
Tom Heinemann - Denmark, Director of Et Tårn av Løfter, the film that revealed the working conditions of the suppliers to Telenor in Bangladesh.
