This festival was initiated by Oslo Dokumentarkino and Human Rights House Oslo.

Oslo Dokumentarkino was established five years ago to create a place to meet and discuss socio-political issues of great importance that are underrepresented in Norwegian media, through the use of documentary films.

We organise film/discussion events at Parkteatret and other venues in Oslo, on a weekly/monthly basis. These events are often organised in collaboration with for example PRIO, NUPI, Film Fra Sør, Afghanistan Committee, Fredsrådet and many others. See dokumentarkino.no for the full programme.

Oslo Dokumentarkino also distributes a selection of quaity documentary films. See oslodocs.com for more details.

Human Rights House is home to the following member organisations:
- The Norwegian Helsinki Committee
- The Norwegian Tibet Committee
- The Norwegian Burma Committee,
- Health and Human Rights Info
- Voice of Tibet
- FoodFirst Inforamation and Action Network (FIAN)
- Human Rights House Foundation
- Norwegian P.E.N.

The Norwegian Human Rights House was established in 1989. Its eight member organisations work with various forms of human rights monitoring, reporting and advocacy, both nationally and internationally. Human Rights Houses are established in different countries to enhance co-operation and joint activities by bringing human rights groups together in one location.
See humanrightshouse.org for more information.

The Norwegian Helsinki Committee
The Norwegian Helsinki Committee was founded in 1977, and is a non-governmental (NGO), non-profit organisation which monitors compliance with the human rights provisions of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) within all OSCE signatory states and supports initiatives to strengthen democracy and civil society. In the last few years the Norwegian Helsinki Committee's international activities have focused especially on the emerging democracies in the Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. The committee works irrespectively of states' ideology and political positions, and concentrates on addressing breaches of the Helsinki Declaration, OSCE documents and other international human rights treaties. The Norwegian Helsinki Committe is politically independent.

Health and Human Rights Info
Health and Human Rights Info is a web site that makes practical information and material on mental health and human rights more available. The aim is to give access to organisations, publications, guidelines and manuals regarding the effects of human rights violations on mental health in the contexts of violence, conflict and disaster. Health and Human Rights Info is a project initiated by the International Society for Health and Human Rights (ISHHR), and funded by the Norwegian NGO Mental Health Project.
